Richard Helm, age 74, of Weogufka, Alabama passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021. Richard was born August 18, 1946 to Deci Helm and Jim Helm. A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Unity Presbyterian Church in Weogufka, AL. A burial will occur at Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery following the funeral service. Rev. Charles Sims will officiate all services. Richard is survived by his wife, Faye Helm; son Matt Helm (Courtney); brothers Henry Helm and Randy Helm (Donna), sisters Jane Ezekiel and JoAnn Ogle; grandsons Jordan Helm and Cade Helm, and granddaughter Preslie Helm. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Deci Helm; brother Jimmie Helm; and sisters Eunice Culver and Jewell Woodfin. Serving as active pallbearers are Glenn McMahon, Billy Helm, Lanier Corbitt, Reid Carden, Tony Helm, and Christopher Ezekiel. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Mylon Douley and Kevin Ezekiel. Richard was a member of the Weogufka Masonic Lodge and Unity Presbyterian Church where he served as song leader. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and Alabama football.
