Pinson, AL. - Robert Lewis McDonald, age 74, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025.
Robert McDonald grew up in Sylacauga, Alabama. He was a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend throughout his life. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army with tours overseas as an engineer before settling down in Pinson, Alabama where he married and raised his three sons. He worked as a service manager at Roy Bridges in downtown Birmingham for over 10 years. He then moved to being a regional manager, overseeing several Express Oil Change stores in the Birmingham area. He had a huge passion for family, Bama football, and cars. Saturdays in the fall were his favorite time of year. His neighbors could hear him scream "Roll Tide" from inside their houses. Robert was the most generous, kind, and gentle man. His heart beat stronger than ever before his passing while everything else was failing. His heart was as strong as an ox and anyone who knew him, knows he loved strong. He believed in the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. God called him Home to do his good deeds along side Him in Heaven.
Robert is survived by his sons, Daniel McDonald (Alexandra), Clark Proctor (Jennifer), Brian McDonald (Adair); sisters, Tami Ray and Cindy Jeans; grandchildren, Olivia, Weldon, Merritt, Reilly, Camden, John, Liam, Brooklyn-Amber and Jake; and ex-wife, Marsha Henderson Fifer.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Wyonell "Granny Mac" Singleton McGaha and father, William Reed McDonald; aunt, Pearl Singleton; and uncle, Robert Singleton.
