Funeral service for Roy Dean Hammonds, 65, will be 2 p.m. April 8 at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Joe Coley and the Rev. Mark Vernon officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Mount Cemetery. Mr. Hammonds died April 6, 2010 at his residence in Goodwater. Survivors are his wife, Peggy Sue Hammonds of Goodwater; son, Roy Dean Hammonds Jr. of Goodwater; brothers, Wesley Hammonds of Hollins and Donnie Hammonds of Senio, Ga.; sisters, Stella Thomas of Alexander City, Dot Luker of Talladega, Syble Bradford of Alexander City, Sue Vernon of Rockford, and Kay Anderson of Goodwater. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.
