Sara Faye Mitchell Bush, age 91, of Trussville, Alabama passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Sara was born July 7, 1929 to Minnie Pearl Gilliland and Joseph Elyent Gilliland. A visitation for Sara will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM, at Curtis and Son Funeral Home. A burial will occur following the funeral at Macedonia Cemetery. Rev. Mac McCaleb and Rev. Wesley Higginbotham will officiate all services. She is survived by her husband, USAF retired E.W. Bush; daughter Kay Mitchell Sprayberry (Paul); and son Charles Mitchell (Melanie); grandchildren Tony Hay (Alana), Adam Mitchell Hay, and Nicole Mitchell Crimi (Matt), great grandchildren Jackson Crimi and Logan Crimi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Mitchell; and parents Joseph Elyent Gilliland and Minnie Pearl Gilliland. Serving as pallbearers are Tony Hay, Adam Hay, George Harding, Zach Lockhart, Matt Andrews, Zach Hester and Terry Landrum. She retired from Sears in Sylacauga. She was a longtime member of Marble City Baptist Church. She loved to cook, gardening, plants, and making sure you had something to eat when you came to see her. She was famous for her pound cake. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House at Children's in Birmingham. Facebook live will be available for the funeral service.
