Goodwater, AL - Graveside service for Sharron Virginia Ward, 73, will be Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Goodwater at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Wayne Walker officiating.
Sharron V. Ward passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 surrounded by family. She was born in Mobile, Alabama on June 26, 1947 to James Dark Thompson and Eva Ramsey Thompson. She was the 4th child of six children. In 1966, she married the love of her life, James "Tommy" Thomas Ward and moved to Mt. Olive, Coosa County, Alabama where they built a home that they resided in for 54 years. She was a homemaker and mother to two Children, Shari Acklin and James D. Ward. Mrs. Ward was a member of Mt. Olive First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for several years. She loved her brother and sisters and has always been close to them, talking on the phone several times a day.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James "Tommy" Thomas Ward; parents, James Dark Thompson and Eva Edna Thompson and her brother, James "Buddy" Thompson.
She is survived by her daughter, Shari (Pat) Acklin of Childersburg; son, James "Jimmy" (Patty) Ward of Goodwater; four sisters, Lynda Shelton of Birmingham, Patsy Nix of Sylacauga, Deborah Berry of Sylacauga, Cynthia (Donald) Lee of Mobile, five grandchildren, Dalton Ward of Salt Lake City, Utah, Travis (Devon) Ward of Rockford, Meagan (Tyler) McGrady of Sylacauga, Caleb Miley of Goodwater, McCoy Ward of Goodwater; five great grandchildren, Saylor and Haisley McGrady of Sylacauga, Mary Ann Ward of Goodwater, Colin Ward of Rockford, and Cayden Brekel of Rockford; sister in law, Jo Ward of Goodwater; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Goodwater.

Pallbearers will be Danny Ward, Jason Jennings, Jay Berry, Travis Ward, Pat Acklin and Tyler McGrady. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne McDaniel and McCoy Ward.
