Taft Joseph Brown

Funeral service for Taft Brown, age 31, of Sylacauga will be Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11AM at Curtis and Son North Chapel with Brother Mark Deason officiating. Burial will follow at 1PM at Rocky Mount Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 24, 2023 from 5-8PM at the funeral home.

Taft passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jessie Aaron Bates, uncle, John Brown, aunt, Bobbie Jean Gay and grandparents, Howard Taft and Mary Jewel Moore Brown. He was a wonderful husband, father, son and friend and was such a family man. Taft was also a member of the Union Local 312.

He is survived by his wife, Nicole Brown, sons, Aiden Taft Brown, Joseph Theodore Brown, mother, Angela Mathews, father, Joe E. Brown, sister, Iris Smith (C.J.), nieces, River Smith, Aliah, Addison, grandmother, Pauline Roberts, grandfather, James Mathews, uncle, Brian Mathews, aunts, Dollie Smith (Todd), Patsy Williamson (the late Bennie), host of cousins, friends and union brothers, mother-in-law, Teresa Austin, father-in-law, James Austin, sister-in-law, Desiree Austin, brother-in-law, Seth Searcy and grandfather, Tom Roberts.

Pallbearers are Seth Mathews, Christopher Smith, Justin Clifton, Joey Barnett, Caleb Williams, Chadley Nickolson and honorary pallbearers, Scott Bates, Brian Mathews and Marcus Peppers.
