Thomas (T.J.) PaytonWeogufka, AL - Funeral service for Thomas (T.J.) Payton, 79, will be Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11:00 am at Radney-Smith Chapel with Minister Mike Kiser officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.Mr. Payton died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, AL. He was a member of Sylacauga Church of Christ.  He loved old cars, enjoyed farming and visiting with neighbors.  He retired from Kimberly Clark after 35 years and enjoyed 23 years of retirement.He is survived by his wife, Bettye Payton of Weogufka; sons, Tommy Payton, wife Rhonda of Weogufka and Stephen Payton, wife Sharon of Stewartville; grandsons, Shelby Payton, Shane Payton and Stacy Payton; sister, Virginia Osborne of  Sylacauga; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Rennie and Linda Edmunds and family. Visitation will be Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.Pallbearers will be Shelby Payton, Shane Payton, Stacy Payton, Corey Edmunds, Brian Dix and Mike Jones.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
