Sylacauga, AL - Willie left his home on Lay Lake to be with the Lord in his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Emily Doss Cooper, mother, Mary Doss Carpenter, father, William E. Doss, brother, George Edward Doss, and brother-in-law, Rodney Brakefield.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Daley Doss; son, Matthew Doss; nephew like a son, Chris Ricketts; two granddaughters, Ava Cooper, Ellie Cooper; son-in-law, Christopher Cooper; sister, Glenda Doss Burson; two brothers, Rodney (Reba) Doss, Michael Doss; half sister, Krystyna Wells; step-brother, Dale Horton; step-sister, Donna Horton; many nephews, nieces, great nieces and great nephews; father & mother-in-law, Jerry and Shirley Daley; sister-in-law, Teresa Daley Brakefield; his best and life-long friend, Mark Taylor, and a host of friends.
His home church is Bivens Chapel Methodist Church, Brookside Alabama where he helped build the new church during 2006. While attending he was very active in the music program. His faith never wavered.
He graduated from Pinson Valley High School and attended Jefferson State Community College where he graduated with an Associate Degree with the designation – Cum Laude.
William enjoyed fishing with family and friends. One of his favorite hobbies was singing and playing music. He was a member of several bands that performed at various venues in Alabama. William sang and played Bass Guitar, Guitar, Piano, and keyboards. He also wrote several religious songs. He loved to read and once read the entire encyclopedia one summer when he was a preteen.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL. Funeral service for William "Willie" Doss, 62, will be Sunday, June 11, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Barry Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Tallasahatchie Cemetery in Alpine, AL.
Pallbearers will be Mark Taylor, Dale Horton, Michael Doss, Dan Stracener, James Mitchell and John Tyler.
