

Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for William F. Phifer will be Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Bob Owens and Rev. Dorothy Scott officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.
Mr. Phifer passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Phifer; mother, Florine Phifer; and his brother, Danny Lee Phifer. Mr. Phifer was a graduate of B.B. Comer High School and The University of Alabama. He was a member of the American Studies Association. Mr. Phifer was also a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Sylacauga, AL. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Mr. Phifer is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Shirley B. Phifer; son, William A Phifer of Virginia; three daughters, Jennifer Phifer Economy of VA, Bettina Phifer Peacemaker of VA, and Megan Phifer-Rixey of NJ; brother, Harold Vance (Janice) Phifer of Fortson, GA; and sister, Debra Phifer Wallace.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Baine Brashear, Lemuel Burell, Mike Cleveland, Fred Pate, Larry Smith and Don Wilson.
The family will be accepting flowers or contributions may be made to The Food Pantry at the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of Sylacauga:
