

SYLVANIA, GEORGIA
Mrs. Edna Freeman Carlton, 99, of Sylvania, died Saturday morning, December 27, 2014, in Optim Medical Center-Screven one day before her 100th birthday.
She was born in Wilkes County, Georgia to the late Benjamin Lee and Lena Collins Freeman. She was a member of the Clarke's Station Baptist Church and attended the Sylvania First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Philathea Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Briar Creek DAR and the Hunters Homemakers. She was a retired seamstress with Royal Mfg. Co.
Survivors include, Daughters and Sons-in-Law, Elaine C. and Terry Alvin Vinson of Belton, SC and Henrilyn C. and Roger Cleland of Sylvania. Grandchildren, Terri V. Wells, Randall Cleland, and Michelle W. Parnell, 5 Great-Grandchildren, and Several Nieces and Nephews.
Mrs. Carlton was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry H. Carlton, and a daughter, Evelyn C. West.
Funeral services for Mrs. Carlton will be held Monday, December 29, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. at the Clark's Station Baptist Church in Tignall, Wilkes County, GA with the Rev. Clayton Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be, Scott Salyer, I. B. Parnell, III, Randy Cleland, Eric Wells, Melvin Johnson, and David Reville.
Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 1:30 until 3:30 P.M. at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be held Monday at the Clark's Station Baptist Church from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M.
