

SYLVANIA, GEORGIA
Mr. Gregory Daniel Stell, 60, of Sylvania, died Friday night at his residence under the care of Southern Care Hospice and his loving family.
He was born, October 5, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late James Lee Stell and Edith Denman Matthews of Jasper, Georgia. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving in aviation hydraulics and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving besides his mother are: His Step-mother, Judith Stell of Indiana, a daughter and son-in-law, Amanda S. and Ernest Whisman of Sylvania, a son, James Daniel Stell of Statesboro, Sisters Joyce Black of Statham, Georgia, Mary Matthews of Marble Hill, Georgia, and Vickie Goode of Jasper, Georgia, Brothers, Thomas Roy Matthews of Gainesville, Georgia, Fred Matthews, Jr. of Waleska, Georgia, Adam Matthews of Mesa, Arizona, and Caleb Matthews of Atlanta, Grandsons, Wayne Alexander Canada of Augusta, Georgia and Robert Lee Whisman of Sylvania, A number of Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Sell will be held Monday, October 5, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph E. Dixon, Jr. officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. in the East Shadowlawn Memorial Gardens, 87 Scenic Highway, Lawrenceville, Georgia with Rev. Brandon Drake officiating. Pallbearers: Ernest Whisman, James Daniel Stell, Thomas Ray Matthews, Zackery Long, T.J. Bousquette and Devin Matthews.
Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
