Herman T. (Buck) Jenkins

SYLVANIA, GEORGIA

Mr. Herman T. (Buck) Jenkins, 90, of Sylvania, died Thursday afternoon, February 4, 2016, at Optim Medical Center--Screven in Sylvania.

He was born November 3, 1925, in Statesboro, Georgia, to the late Bernice Leland and Jessie Mae Kennedy Jenkins He retired from the U. S. Army after 20 years service, and saw action in the Pacific area during World War II. He also retired as an automobile mechanic after the Army and was a member of the Little Horse Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Jenkins are: a Daughter, June Elizabeth Jenkins McBride of Girard, Georgia, a Son and Daughter-in-Law, John Michael and Ann Smith Jenkins of Sylvania, a Sister, Sara J. Weiland of Savannah, A Grandson, Matthew Jenkins McBride of Girard, and several Nieces and Nephews.

No services are planned for Mr. Jenkins at this time.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Little Horse Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or to Ellis Chapel United Methodist Church.
