

Hilda Stegins Lariscy, age 95, died on May 16, 2015 at the Brookdale Hilton Head Village, Hilton Head Island, SC, an assisted living facility where she had resided for the past five years.
A longtime resident of Sylvania, GA, she was the eldest daughter of Lorin S. Stegins and Mary Alice Lambert Stegins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers --- Calvin Edward Stegins and Lorin S. Stegins, Jr. --- and sister, Reba Stegins Brinson.
She was married for 66 years to Sylvania native O.L. Lariscy, who died in 2006. They were the parents of three daughters who survive them. They are Lynne Lotz and husband Blaine of Hilton Head Island, SC; Sharon Waters Reno and husband, Bob, of Sylvania, GA; and Jan Goldsmith of Charleston, SC. Also surviving are four grandchildren, George (Trip) Lotz of Reston, VA; Ginny Lotz Bickell of Columbia, MD; Stephanie Goldsmith Terry of Charleston, SC; and Daniel Goldsmith of Denver, CO; six great grandsons and one great granddaughter, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
During her years in Sylvania, she worked closely with her husband as owners of the Sylvania Furniture and Appliance Company until their retirement. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. a member of the Sylvania Garden Club, and a member and officer of the Brier Creek Chapter of the NSDAR.
A graveside service and burial will be on Tuesday, May 19th at 11:30 AM at the Screven County Memorial Cemetery, Sylvania, GA. Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the home of Bob and Sharon Reno, 217 N. Lake Drive, Sylvania, beginning at 2:00 in the afternoon.
