Jewel Anna Hughes Scott

Sylvania –Jewel Anna Hughes Scott, age 87, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA. She was born in Screven County to the late Joseph Michael & Cora Madge Waters Hughes, was retired from Screven County Middle School where she was Lunchroom Manager and was a member of Hiltonia United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband: Norman Lee Scott, Jr.; Sister: Helen H. Adamson.

Survivors: Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Laura & Wendell Edenfield and Julie & Robert Thompson, all of Sylvania; Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Michael & Yvonne Scott and Ross & Lori Scott, all of Sylvania; Sister: Eloise H. Cail of Fortson, GA; Brothers and Sister-In-Law: Alton & Mary Hughes of Port Wentworth, GA and Thomas Hughes of Millen, GA; Grandchildren: Stacey & Allen Mincey, Rocky & Lauryn Scott, Amanda Pye, Allison Pye, Mary Helen & Allen Bozard, Allison Scott, Anna Edenfield, Alicia & Raef Ferrell and Hannah & Josh Gay; Great-Grandchildren: Ben Mincey, Ariel Mincey, Brody Ondriezek, Tanner Forehand, Berklee Bozard, Luke Gay, Ian Scott and Sawyer Ferrell; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Sirmons and Wendell Edenfield officiating. Burial following at Screven County Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Rocky Scott, Ben Mincey, Allen Mincey, Allen Bozard, Raef Ferrell and Josh Gay. Honorary Pallbearers: Charles & Linda Lee, Terri Rountree, Mary Anderson, Brenda Waters and Debbie Bazemore.
