Thomas T.W. Will Rhodes Jr.

Sylvania –Thomas William Rhodes, Jr., age 82, passed away Tuesday, December 21 2010 at his residence in Sylvania. He was born in Screven County, was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service and was retired from the City of Sylvania. He was a member of Sylvania First Baptist Church and attended Friendship Baptist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and was a member of the Joy Singers and of First Families of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his Wife: Lois Connell Rhodes; Son: Joseph Steven Rhodes; Parents: Thomas William Rhodes, Sr. and Orrie Clayton Rhodes Lucas.

Survivors: Daughter and Son-In-Law: Rose Marie & George Demetruk of Lompoc, CA; Son and Daughter-In-Law: Willie B. & Lynn Freeman of Irwin, PA; Sister: Carolyn R. Duggan of Richmond Hill, GA; Brother: Clayton Rhodes of Savannah, GA; Special Friend: Sylvia B. Blakey of Sylvania; 3 Grandchildren: Warren Freeman and Darin Freeman, both of Irwin, PA and Ian Demetruk of Lompoc, CA; 3 Nieces and Nephews: Jan J. Degenhart, James Rhodes and Robin Rhodes.

Visitation: Monday, December 27, 2010 at 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Chapel with Rev. Jon McLain and Rev. Kitty Newton officiating. Burial at Bonaventure Cemetery, Greenwich Section, Savannah, GA at 3:00 PM.

Pallbearers: Grady Reddick, James Hill, Dr. Gerald French, Brian Bohannon, William J. Tyre, Moses Griner, Phil Rhodes and David Wilson.
