Diamond Prodromakis Roros, born in New York City on November 8, 1933, passed away on December 20, 2020 at the age of 87. How can I write the last letter about our Mother. Our Mother was just that, a mother. Diamond had eight children, three died at birth. All of her life was dedicated to bringing up her five children, Betty, John, Eva, Nicholas and Anthony, with the utmost love. The feeling of love, tenderness and total devotion is all I can say about this tireless woman. The Woman who gave us life? She gave us life and we were her whole life. She never thought about herself, or her needs. Mommy wasn’t even last, she never had needs, her only need was to fulfill ours. What I remember is wanting to be with her on her ‘deliveries’. It was the best. Mommy was always shopping. At this time every year she would make kourabiedes for Christmas. Mommy always had a Christmas account to buy us all many presents. It is oxymoron that she chose to leave us for Christmas, but maybe she was finally tired. Two birds came to my balcony just as I learned of Mom’s passing. It must have been Dad and Mom saying that they found each other again. Mommy never forgot a birthday. She knew all the birthdays of her grandchildren. There was always cards and wrapping paper on the dining room table. We will always love you and remember your love. Betty, Achilleas, Theodore, Nicholas, Maria, Angelina; John; Eva, Pino, Vito, Marianna and Mike, Michael and Nicholas, Daniela and Mike, Grace and Olivia; Nicholas, Carmela, Nicholas and Gregory; Anthony, Antonia and Nicholas.
