Burns, Mary Ellen, nee Waldie, on January 3, 2017 of Syosset, N.Y. Beloved wife of the late Albert Vincent. Loving mother of Mary Ellen, Carolyn, Michael (Ave Maria), George (Lisa), Mark (Brigitte), Patricia, Barbara (Dave), David (Elise), Cathy (Terrence), Jacqueline (Richard), Christine (Michael), Deirdre (Bill) and Angela (Chuck). Dear grandmother of Aidan, Alexander, Anna, Ben, Ceara Maria, Danny, Emily, Henry, Joseph, Kate, Luke, Martin, Matthew, Nick, Rachel and Will. Loving sister of John McGuirk and Katherine Wendelovske. Dear friend of Noelle Senior and Nikeisha Virgo. Mary Burns graduated from SUNY Old Westbury and Hofstra Law School. She had a law office in Syosset and is a past president of St. Edward’s Parish Council. She grew up along the water in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn and instilled in her children a love of mercy and justice. “O, wind, If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?” Reposing at the Beney Funeral Home of Syosset, 79 Berry Hill Rd. Visiting Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral mass 11am Friday at St. Edward Confessor RC Church, 205 Jackson Ave., Syosset, NY. Interment to follow at Long Island National Cemetery.
