He was the patriarch of the Meyer's Farm family in Woodbury, one of the last remaining farms in Nassau County which took root in 1924 when his Grandparents purchased the land. Carrying on in those footsteps and that of his parents, Peter Jr. and Stella, he quite proudly supplied the local community with home grown garden plants and the freshest produce.
He leaves behind his dear sister, Sandra Meyer-Tuffy of Cutchogue, NY, and his loving children, Jacquelyn and Salvatore Oliveri, Peter IV and Muriel Meyer, Jill Meyer and the late Hector Castro, Joseph and Karyn Meyer, Stephen and Jillian Meyer and Christine Meyer. He is affectionately known as Grandpa to Brittany, Peter V and Shannon, Nicholas C, Dylan, Antonina, Emma, Lara, Carleigh, Gavin, Nicholas T and Great Grandpa to Giselle.
Visitation will be held at Beney Funeral Home, 79 Berry Hill Road, Syosset, NY 11791, US, on March 26, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, 129 S Broadway, Hicksville, NY 11801, US, on March 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY 11590, US, on March 27, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
