

August Colabufo, 91, of Syracuse passed away Friday at the Syracuse Home. He was a life resident of the Syracuse area and was a WWII US Army Veteran and P.O.W. He was a member of the VFW Mattydale Post #3146. August retired from Syracuse University as a Forman in the physics department. He also worked at GE as a tool maker for 22 years. Mr. Colabufo collected tickets at the fair for 45 years and was a head usher at the Onondaga County War Memorial Convention Center for 55 years. He is predeceased by his wife Pauline Colabufo, four brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his son, Santo (Patricia) Colabufo of Liverpool; his daughter, Candace (Mark) Carroll of Baldwinsvile; brother, Nicolas Colabufo of Florida; grandchildren, Paul and Andrea Colabufo, Ryan and Michael Carroll; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 8:45 a.m. at Pirro & Sons Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park St. Contributions may be made to the Syracuse Home, 7740 Meigs Rd., Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
