Dathine Barbee

Dathine Gaiter Barbee, 55, of Syracuse, NY, passed away Tuesday surrounded by her family. Born in Mississippi, she was a resident of Syracuse for over 20 years. Dathine served her country for 15 years in the United States Army and worked for Loretta Rest for 19 years. Dathine was preceded in death by her mother, Freddie Gaiter (Wilson).

She leaves to cherish her memory, her father, Jeffie Gatier; sons, Glen Barbee, Jr., Shon (Takia) Barbee, and Brandon Barbee; siblings, Irma Gaiter, Madie Gomez, Timothy Gater, and Peggy (Javier) Romaro; four grandchildren, Rilee Barbee, Destanee Barbee, Shon (To-Tone) Barbee, and Tajanae Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. A special mention to Glen Barbee, Sr. for the gift of three sons.

Funeral services: Tuesday 11 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church. Burial in White Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours: Monday 4-7 p.m. at the church, 149 Beattie Street, Syracuse. Farone & Son Funeral Home has arrangements.
