Dorothy Jones

Dorothy Jones, 90, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012, at the Central Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Syracuse, NY. She was born in Thomasville, GA, on June 3, 1922, she came to Syracuse in 1952 by way of Jacksonville, FL, and York, PA. Ms. Jones was a loving and nurturing mother who enjoyed attending concerts, card games, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are eight children, Anthony (Shellie) James, Gwendolyn (James) Kearse, Benjamin (Brenda) Jones, Cassandra Jones, Carmen Jones-McBride and Deborah Jones all of Syracuse; Gregory Jones, Atlanta, GA; and Cedric (Donna) Jones of Phoenix, AZ; 35 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren.

Home Going Services will be conducted this Friday, September 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Victory Temple Fellowship Church, 124 Alden St., Syracuse, NY, officiated by Rev. Dr. H. Bernard Alex. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the Farone & Son Funeral Home at 1500 Park St., Syracuse, NY, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again from 10-11 a.m. on Friday before services.
