

Hester Stouer Osgood, 83, of Wynwood of Manlius, passed away Wednesday at Van Duyn. Born in New York City, she resided in Dewitt for 50 years. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. Hester attended Norfolk Art School of Yale University and The National Academy Museum School of Fine Arts. She was the first woman to win the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation grant which allowed her to study painting and show her work in Italy. Her work has been shown widely in the Northeast and most recently August 6, 2010 at Wynwood. Hester was predeceased by her husband,Dr. Charles K. Osgood in 1991 and her daugther,Hester, Jr. "Ginger" in 2008.
Survivors: Her daughters, Emily Osgood and Cynthia Panka; sons, John (Adrian) Osgood, Ken (Lena) Osgood, Jr., Lloyd (Sue) Osgood, Warren (Dina) Osgood; son-in-law, Ken Showalter; sister, Susan Thayer; nine grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 2 at Grace Episcopal Church of Syracuse, 819 Madison St., Syracuse, NY.
