Maxine G. Cain

Maxine Pride Cain, 64, of Syracuse, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt (Anny Mac) and cousin passed away peacefully at home on Friday. She was born on January 9, 1947 in Syracuse to the late George and Naomi Grant. She was predeceased by her husband, James Cain and her sister, Marcia R. Jackson. Upon graduating from Central Tech High School she worked in the Collection Department for Kemper Insurance for 34 years. In the 1970’s she was actively involved in the Sherman Park Organization for 10 years. Her greatest gift was sharing her love and laughter with her entire family and friends.

Maxine is survived by her three sons, William A. (Robin) Pride of Huntsville, AL, Christopher J. (Judith) Pride, and Erik J. (Marie) Pride both of Syracuse, NY; eight grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Grant of Syracuse, NY; brother, Michael Grant and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at Hopps Memorial CME Church, 1110 South State Street.
