Mr. Santo Conte

Santo Conte, 79, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Italy, he resided in Syracuse for 62 years. Mr. Conte retired as owner/operator of Conte Trucking after many years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 317. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Conte in 1987.

Santo is survived by four daughters, Lauri (Joseph) Wentland of Fayetteville, Patricia Ewaniszyk of East Syracuse, Rosaria (Frank) Loperfido of Dewitt and Ann (Jody) Cox of East Syracuse; two sons, Michael Whitehead and Rocco Conte both of Syracuse; sister, Rosaria Castagnella of Italy; brother, Ralph (Michele) Conte of Manlius; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, 8:15 a.m. from FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 9 a .m. in St. Matthew’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call, Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street.
