

Celia P. Saldivar, age 84, a resident of Odem, Texas and a former longtime resident of Taft, Texas passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 in Corpus Christi, Texas surrounded by family. She was born in Mexico on October 25, 1926 to Basilio Patiño and Esperanza Rojas Patiño.
Celia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to a large family. She was one to put others before herself and loved spending time with her loved ones. She lived for it. She survived many illnesses throughout her life but yet always remained strong for her family. Celia also enjoyed reading the Word of the Lord and loved her cats.
Mrs. Saldivar was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Angel Saldivar.
She is survived by four sons, George (Juanita) Saldivar, Inez (Edna) Saldivar and Jesus Saldivar, all of Taft, and Jose Angel (Amelia) Saldivar Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; six daughters, Gloria Galvan and Rosalinda (Robert) Sturgeon, both of Taft, Gracie (Joe) Trevino and Celia (Gerardo) Reyes, both of Houston, Texas, Ester (Joey) Diaz of Corpus Christi and Diana (Vern) Isaac of Odem; 40 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Taft. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Taft at the Taft Memorial Park Cemetery.
