Roberto R. Torres of Taft, Texas, was promoted to be with the Lord on April 29, 2014. He was born on March 10, 1938, to Calixtro and Rosa R. Torres. On September 5, 1958, Roberto married the love of his life, Estella “Ninfa” Delira. God blessed them with 2 sons, 7 daughters, 29 grand children, and 25 great grandchildren.
Roberto was a wonderful husband, son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, father-in-law and a friend to all. His love for each and every one of them was UNCONDITIONAL. This was evident by the quality of time he spent with each of them, whether it was teaching them how to take care of the lawn or garden, playing the guitar, or any other activity which they showed interest in. All these things made him extraordinary.
He worked all his life, dedicated 30 years as welder, 20 years as a carpenter and all his life as a loving family man. In addition to all he did for his family and friends, he found time to serve God as a life long (50 years) member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Roberto was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Raquel Torres; nephew, Stephen Torres; grandson, Robert Torres III; and granddaughters, Kandy and Mandy Salazar.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Estella “Ninfa”. He is also survived by his children: Robert (Linda) Torres, Sylvia (Juan) Mejia, Linda Chapa, Raquel (Justin) Ruvo, Debbie (Troy) Ivey, Roland Torres, Cyndi (Bill) Paulsen, Priscilla (Refugio) Chavez, Telly (Pedro) Costilla.
He will be sorely missed but never forgotten. God Speed “Daddy”.
