Anita Marie Schultz was born on August 5th, 1957 in Bengazi Libya, Africa, the daughter of James W. “Friendly Jim” and Betty Iona (Bell) Murray. She grew up with one brother and one sister, James W. Warren III and Atina E. Murray. The family lived overseas and traveled extensively. She returned to the United States with her family and graduated from Tahlequah High school. She then began her studies at Northeastern State University, and with much tenacity, graduated with a double bachelors, one in Business and the other in Criminal Justice. She married and began her family, with her first husband passing away. She met and married the love of her life and best friend, Lawrence Schultz, and they were wed on May 25th, 1996 in Tulsa, OK. They raised Joshua, Sabrina and Heaven together. Anita was a quirky combination of lilies, with the tenacity of a bulldog. She worked as a Parole /Probation officer for 18 years in the Oklahoma Dept of Corrections. She also managed her family's rental properties in Tahlequah. She loved taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren. They were her world. This was usually accomplished under the watchful eyes of one of her many canine companions, Miniature Schnauzers being her favorite. She loved cooking and trying new recipes and then working puzzles and video games. She had a sweet disposition and a great smile. There was nothing she couldn’t do. Anita and Lawrence attended the First Christian Church of Tahlequah. She never failed to help where she was needed and would go the extra mile for anyone. She loved unconditionally and with her whole heart. She was at her best when she made others feel their best. Her health began to fade, and Anita could no longer keep up the schedule she once knew. The Lord called this kind and courageous woman home from her many labors on June 13th, 2023 in Tahlequah, Ok. She was only 65 years old and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister Atina and her Uncle Bell and Aunt Corky.
