She attended school at Pigeon. On May 4th, 1947, she married the love of her life, Earnest Edgar “Rascal” Silk. This union was blessed with 54 years and five wonderful children, Bernice, Houston, Wynice, Linda, and Ricky. Anna Belle was a loving wife and mother by choice. There was nothing more important to her than her family. She dedicated herself to making a home for her family, and was the friend and neighbor everyone liked to visit. Her door was always open and the smile on her face was always there. She possessed a wonderful sense of humor and had a way with people that naturally made them feel at ease. She was an accomplished cook and you could never get enough of her chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, coconut cake and pie, and her berry cobblers. Holiday dinners were always special when she made her homemade dressing. She liked to play bingo and was often at the Senior Citizens building in Cookson making quilts for those that needed the warmth. She loved her friends and was always a welcome member at every gathering. She adored her grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren and was always keeping up their many activities. Anna Belle was a Christian by faith. The Lord called this wonderful wife, mother, and friend home from her labors on Saturday, June 7th, 2014 in Tulsa, OK with her family gathered by her side. She was 83 years old. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
