Barbara Ann (Brown) Thompson was born on April 13th, 1953 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Ted Brown and Gennie Grimmett Russell. She attended schools in Cherokee County and growing up loved playing with her brothers and sisters, Joyce, Jimmie Ann, David, Ricky, Jerry, Johnny, Gary Lee, Lori, Brenda, Andrew, Anthony and Mary. There was nothing better for Barbara than a trip to the lake and play with her sisters. She started a family of her own and was the proud mother of three sons and two daughters, Deanna, Marcus, Cynthia, Stacy and Teddy. She adored her children and grandchildren, they brought her so much happiness. To know Barbara was to know she always enjoyed the outdoors, and camping. She enjoyed decorating her house with antiques and collectables. Her favorite foods to cook in the kitchen were fry bread, fried potatoes, potato salad and macaroni and cheese. Her world revolved around her family, she loved them with all her heart. She loved being a truck driver for many years. She was ornery one growing up and was ornery into her adult and never lacked for words to express how she was feeling. She knew her own mind and expressed herself regularly. She loved people and sitting around chatting with friends as much as she could. A Christian by faith, Barbara attended Greenleaf Church. She loved music especially the old gospel favorites. She passed from life on Saturday, August 16th, 2025 in Tulsa, OK, and was 72 years of age.
