

Throughout his life, Bill dedicated himself to his work as a landscaper, spending many hours tending to the beauty of his own yard and creating peaceful outdoor spaces for others. His love for the land also extended to his artistic side, where he painted tranquil country landscapes, capturing the serenity of the world around him. Bill was also a talented cook and baker, sharing his favorite recipes with friends and family.
Bill’s passion for horses was evident, as he enjoyed horseback riding whenever he could. His musical talents added another layer to his legacy. He played the organ and sang with his family at church, first attending Briggs Holiness Church and later, Faith Chapel in Moody. His faith was an essential part of who he was, guiding him to always open his door to those in need of a place to stay or words of encouragement.
Known by many as "Uncle Bill," his compassion, warmth, and jovial spirit left a lasting mark on all who knew him. Bill was not only a loving brother, uncle, and friend, but also a constant source of support, showing kindness and generosity to all who crossed his path. On Saturday, December 20, 2025, Bill went home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 77. His legacy of love, compassion, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Prudie Leona Philpott, six brothers, Bob Philpott, John Philpott, Wesley Philpott, James Philpott, Lawrence “Buck” Philpott and Infant Philpott and seven sisters, Pearl Shepherd, Mamie Kirk, Betty Rotramel, Rosie Gatewood, Lorene Poteet, Ruth Philpott and Edith Jones.
Those left to remember Uncle Bill include his two sisters, Florene Young of Westville, OK and Florence Young of West Siloam Springs, OK as well as many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends who were fortunate enough to have known him.
A special thank you to his nephew, Bryan Westmoreland, for his constant care for Billie.
Family will receive guests for a time of visitation on Monday, January 5, 2026 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
Funeral services for will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 1:00pm at Reed-Culver Chapel with Chaplain Kevin Webster officiating. He will be laid to rest at Cobb Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Scott Forbes, Casy Farabee, Buddy Grayson, Bryan England, Chris Knight, and Amos Beaver.
