Bobby "Tood" Gene Nicholas

Bobby Gene “Tood” Nicholas was born on October 19, 1932 in the Blue Mound community in Wagoner, OK, the son of Frank James and Mary Jane (Cole) Nicholas. Bobby grew up with five siblings and attended Wagoner Public School. He was a hard worker and talented craftsman, wearing the hats of many trades, such as mechanic, carpenter and farmer. He wasn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty and could fix just about anything. In his early 40’s, he moved to Hulbert where he lived for over 50 years. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, raising bird dogs and fishing. Bobby always had a joke to share and told the best stories. If he could be laughing and joking with the grandchildren (or anyone else) then he was happy. This warm hearted man departed this life on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the age of 91 years old. His sense of humor and love for his family will forever be remembered.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Nicholas, his first wife, Betty Wilkey, his wife, Wanda Lawson Nicholas, stepson, Richard Warren, two grandchildren, Tracy Reagan and Brandon Warren and four brothers, Franklin “Sonny” David Nicholas, Lester Irving Nicholas, Ernest Gene Nicholas, Cecil James Nicholas.

His surviving family include one sister, Susie May Nicholas Buford of Wagoner, OK, two children, Roberta Oliver and husband Donald of Wagoner and James Irving Nicholas of Adair, OK, four stepchildren, Sue Nichols and husband Dale of Hulbert, OK, Curtis Warren and wife Sandra of Locust Grove, OK, Donna Warren of Wagoner and Marcia Moore and husband Gary of Broken Arrow, OK. His legacy lives on through his 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, his “K Kids”, Katelynn, Kelton and Kia along with many nieces, nephews and loved ones.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Charlotte and Hank Whitekiller for watching over Bob’s care.

A visitation for Bobby will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Funeral services will occur Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 10:00am at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Phil Buford officiating. Bobby will be laid to rest in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hulbert.

Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Waits, Hank Whitekiller, Kelton Whitekiller, Kia Whitekiller, Tyler Tedder and Richard Warren Jr. Honorary pallbearers include Tony Tedder, Mike Reagan and Gary Moore.
