Brenda Carpenter

Brenda Sue Carpenter was born the daughter of Troy and Lillie Mae Manes on August 14, 1950 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on July 26, 2010 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 12 days.

She was a member and attended Mt. Zion General Baptist Church of Terisita, OK. On September 15, 1967 she married her High School Sweetheart Glen Carpenter. This marriage was blessed with 4 children. Brenda loved all children. She turned her home into a daycare center where she took care of and loved every child that came into her home, they all called her “mamma Brenda” and Glen “daddy Glen”. She would often say that she would love to keep each one of them as her own, and the kids loved her in return. Whenever she would see a child in need she would do whatever she could to help provide for that child. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a very proud grandmother.

Brenda was preceded in death by 2 daughters: LeeAnn Carpenter and infant Susie; and her father Troy Manes.

She is survived by her husband Glen, Daughter Lorie and husband Jeff Hogan, son Michael Carpenter, grandchildren Brittany and Noah Hogan all of Tahlequah, son Terry and wife Bobbie Anderson and their children James, John, and Kelly, daughter Becky Asbill and her children Dylan and Kristan Carder. Her mother Lillie Mae Manes, sisters and brothers Shirley Finley and her husband Jim of Claremore, Pat Malloy and husband Steve of Tahlequah, Carolyn Manes of Owasso, Jackie Manes of Tahlequah, Bill Manes and wife Mitzie of Tahlequah and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday July 30, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Mt. Zion General Baptist Church in Terisita with Rev. Jimmy Bell and Rev. Faye Bell officiating.
