Cathy Sawyer

Catherine (Jones) Sawyer, or more commonly known as Cathy, was born on September 4th, 1953 in Redding, CA. She was raised in California with her two brothers and two sisters before relocating to Oklahoma later in life. Cathy had the opportunity to work in many different types of jobs. Above all the professions she held, being a homemaker was what she took the most pride in. She was blessed with two sons, Charles and Jimmy and loved being a grandmother to her one grandbaby, Jazzmine Brown. Cathy was always tending to the house and her family, cooking up her homemade burritos that everyone loved. During her younger years, she enjoyed traveling to see the sites in Branson and walking around Silver Dollar City or time visiting with family in California. Even still, there was no place like home. Cathy was a fan of murder mysteries, some of her favorite shows to watch was NCIS and CSI. She also liked to dive into a good romance novel or murder mystery book. A Christian by faith, Cathy was a member of Hanson Baptist Church for many years and later attended First Baptist Church of Tahlequah. She was called from this life on Tuesday, June 13th, 2023 in Tahlequah, OK at the age of 69 years old. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those that have preceded her in death include her first husband, Roger Dale Walls, her parents and one sister.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Charles Walls and wife Amanda Brown of Park Hill, OK and Jimmy Walls of Muskogee, OK and one granddaughter, Jazzmine Brown as well as nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
