Later in his teen years his mother remarried and he gained a brother, Bill Coots, and a sister, Peggy Anderson. The family called the Southside of Oklahoma City home, and Bicycle Hill was David’s favorite place to be! He was always there with his friends. He attended Southeast School, and developed his lifelong love of sports here. He was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Chicago Cubs, the Texas Rangers and the Lakers. After completing high school, he went to work as the Warehouse Manager of Buddy’s Produce. He married his lifelong friend and soulmate, Brenda Sue Trotter on July 17th, 1981 in Oklahoma City, OK. This marriage was blessed with one son, named John Douglas Trotter. David loved people and it showed, he was willing to help anyone that asked and did it with a big grin and a kind heart. He was kind, compassionate, and gentle spirited. Whenever he wasn’t working, David enjoyed traveling around the United States and going to sporting events, watching Dale Earnhardt and later Jr race, from Talladega to Phoenix. He also went to San Francisco and twice to his favorite paradise on earth, Hawaii. When he finally retired, he had always wanted to live the “Lake Life” and found himself and Brenda living at Lake Tenkiller at Cookson. He loved time spent on the water. When he was resting at home, he liked watching old western like Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, and anything featuring John Wayne. He loved to go to family gatherings and tease the kids, he was a big kid himself. For all the plans he had, the journey came to an end on September 11th, 2024 at his home on the lake in Cookson. He was 69 years old and will be greatly missed.
