

Tahlequah, OK- Funeral services for Dwight Allan Walker will be held on Thursday, December 6th, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Keys Southern Baptist Church with Brother George Hubbard officiating. Visitation is Wednesday, December 5th, 2012 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Interment will be held at Greenleaf Cemetery.
Pallbearers for Dwight include Bobby Whitewater, Bobby Hutson, Kenneth Tawkoyty, Aaron Gower, Josh Phillips, and Jason Timmons. Honorary pallbearers include James Crawford, Robbie Wood, Donald Shamel, Gary Shamel, Louie Gilliam, Harold Thompson, Blue Grimmett, Bobby Washington, James Reece, John C. Reece, John R. Reece, Tim Washington, Tommy Lee Phillips, Willie Washington, and all of his trucking “Buddies”.
Dwight Allan Walker was born on May 13th, 1955 in Kansas City, MO ,the son of Jack and Gertrude (Cook) Walker. He attended school in Tahlequah. On December 16th, 1974, he married the love of his life, Nakita Washington in Tahlequah, OK. This union was blessed with three children, Mark, Clarrissa, and Sonya. Dwight was a truck driver by profession, a job that brought him many miles of travel and hundreds of friends. He was the owner/operator of Walker Trucking. Whenever he had a little spare time, Dwight could be found at home working on a truck, mowing the yard, and taking care of family matters. He loved nothing more than to spend the day watching his grandchildren play sports. He was quite a ball player in his own right and played the position of short stop. He enjoyed riding horses and spending time having a cup of coffee with his many friends. Dwight was a kind and considerate man, thoughtful of the needs of others. He never met a stranger and often went the “extra mile” for his family and friends. He was dependable, loving and a family man first and foremost. A Christian by faith, Dwight attended Come and Dine Church. Dwight was called home to his Lord and Savior on December 2nd, 2012 in Tahlequah, OK in his home with his loving family by his side. He was 57 years old. Dwight has left many wonderful memories for his family and friends to share in days to come.
Dwight is preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Onnie and Easter Walker and Albert and Ida Mae Cook.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Nakita Walker of the home in Tahlequah. He leaves his mother, Gertrude of Keys. His three wonderful children, Mark and Sandi Walker of Keys, Clarrissa Walker and companion Hubbard Stanley Jr. of Woodall, OK, and Sonya Walker of Keys, OK. His brothers and sisters include Jackie Walker and wife Kathy of Keys, Carolyn and Gene Hutson of Hulbert, OK, Ricky Walker and wife Aleen of Peggs, OK, Melvin Walker and wife Lola of Sallisaw, OK, and Sharon Crawford and husband James of Keys, OK. Dwights legacy lives on his seven grandchildren, Jacky Walker, Rebekah Walker, Jonia Walker, Ethan Charles, Rylee Blackman, Joe Green Jr., Ashlyn Stanley, two special friends, Darlene Wood and Yvonne Shamel as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
