Gary Dean Samples

Funeral services for Gary Dean Samples will be held on Wednesday, December 23rd, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Cindy Dallis officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2015 from noon until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver. Interment will be held at Barber Cemetery. Gary Dean Samples was born on September 13th, 1958 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Terry Arthur and Lucille (Studie) Samples. He attended school at Tahlequah High School. He worked as a photographer, as well as Restaurant of the Cherokee and McDonalds. He was everybody’s best friend, and the most charming person you would ever meet. He adored people and just had the most marvelous way of making people feel that they were loved and wanted. He was never one to turn his back on anyone that asked him for help. While employed at McDonalds, he would not hesitate to buy lunch for anyone that could not afford to buy something to eat. He spent his spare time enjoying sports of all kind, from football, a really big OU fan, baseball, softball, where he coached the “Blazers”, a team his sisters played on, to shooting marbles. He loved 70’s rock and roll. He loved his family dearly, they were everything to Gary. He took great pride in his five sons and two daughters, and enjoyed any chance to spend time with his six nieces and seven nephews. Gary was baptized at Carter Baptist Church in Keys, OK. The Lord called Gary home on December 18th, 2015 in Tulsa, OK with his family by his side. He was 57 years old.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, his maternal grandparents, Lydia Swimmer-Buzzard and Swimmer Studie, his wife, Cassie McClinton in 2010, his daughter Summer Samples and most recently, his sister, Tina Hamilton in October of 2015.

Those left to cherish Gary’s memory include his beloved mother, Lucille Samples of the home in Park Hill, OK, and his children, Lincoln Rinehart and wife Laci of Claremore, OK, Daniel McClinton and wife Lindsey of Little Rock, AR, Eric Jordan “EJ” Studie of TX, Isaac Samples and Jacob Samples both of Stillwater, OK, and Raylynn Samples of Stillwater, OK. He leaves one brother and two sisters, Geraldine Scott and husband Earnie of Welling, OK, Linda Daugherty of Woodall, OK, and Punkin Samples and wife Cindy of Park Hill, OK. He leaves four adored grandchildren, Corbin Rinehart and Madison Rinehart both of Claremore, OK, and Chloe and Graham McClinton both of Little Rock, AR. Gary leaves his nieces and nephews, Deidra, Davidaa, Brandi, Lindsey, Ashley, Krisshell, DO, Dustin, Dexter, Drew, Allen, Nick, and JJ, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends and lives he touched along the way.
