Geet D. Whitekiller was born on December 3rd, 1941 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Willie and Linda (Glass) Whitekiller. He attended high school in Hulbert, graduating in 1960.He later went on to obtain his Bachelor’s degree from NSU in Business Administration. On October 28th, 1960, Geet enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and proudly served his country , being awarded the Vietnam Service medal with star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal , and the M14 Marksman Badge, before being honorably discharged on September 8, 1967. Geet began work as a Financial Officer for IHS, a job he enjoyed immensely. He was a loving and devoted father to his three wonderful children, Jolinda, Kathleen, and David. He adored any time spent in their company. When time permitted, Geet loved to be outdoors, golfing, fishing, hunting, or driving the country lanes in Oklahoma, where everyone he met was a friend, not a stranger. He liked to tinker with his houses, yards, and gardening. Geet was talented in the kitchen, and he turned out some of the best stir-fry, chicken and dumplings, fry bread and grilled meat you ever tasted. Geet , once his mind was made up, did what he set out to do. He was stubborn and headstrong yet he always showed the power of a “can do” attitude. He had an opinion, and would jump at the chance to debate the issues with any interested party. Geet saved his love and devotion for his family. They were everything in the world to him. He admired them and all of their accomplishments. He enjoyed any time spent listening to them talk and laughing at their stories. A Christian by faith, Geet was called to his eternal home on August 12th, 2012 in Tahlequah, OK with his family by his side. He was 70 years old. Even though he was quiet in nature, his presence will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Geet is preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, his brother, Virgil and two sisters, Louise and Bernice.
His memory will be cherished by his three children, Jolinda Whitekiller of Tahlequah, Kathleen and Steve Imhoff of Moodys, OK, and David Whitekiller and wife Tara of Tahlequah, OK. He leaves the mother of his children, Carole Whitekiller. He leaves five brothers, Alfred, Alvin, Buffalo, Curtis and Calvin Whitekiller. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren, Brittany Boyd and her significant other, Chad Dick, Christopher Boyd, Jordan Whitekiller, Autumn Imhoff, and Chance Imhoff. His two very special great grandchildren include Kyler and Kinlee Boyd. Geet leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
