

Memorial services for Hank Washington will be held on Friday, March 2nd, 2018, at 10:00 AM, at Reed-Culver Chapel with Brother Randall Carey officiating services. Honorary pallbearers for Hank include his dearest friends, Andy Ford, Terry Hicks, Spanky Thompson, Sammy Kirk, and William Deardeuff. Hank Washington was born on January 23rd, 1955 in Ft. Gibson, OK, the son of Jimmy and Margaret (Kitson) Washington. He was raised in a household with two brothers and three sisters, David, Jimmie, Violet, Joyce and Melba. Hank was a hard working man his whole life, he worked in welding and grinding. He liked people and was always ready to tell them a story. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor and could always make you smile. When there was a little free time, Hank was ready to be out doors, doing a little camping, fishing and hunting. He had a giving heart and was always ready to help anyone that asked. He was a loving son, husband father and grandfather, there was no one on this earth he loved more than his grandchildren. He married Paula Sue “Susie “Deckard and together they raised five children, Roy, Marshal, Carol, Marsha, and Darla. Susie passed from his life on March 10th, 2015. Hank married Shelley Renee Moore on December 1st, 2017 in Tahlequah, OK. Together, they enjoyed their time keeping up with the grandchildren and all their activities. Hank passed from this life on Sunday, February 25th, 2018 at his residence with those he loved gathered around him. He was 63 years old. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, his wife Susie, his baby boy, Hank Washington Jr., one brother, Jimmie Washington, one sister, Melba Deckard, his maternal grandparents, Leonard and Idora (Collier) Kitson and paternal grandparents, Red and Jennie Washington.
Those left of cherish his memory include his wife, Shelley Washington of the home in Park Hill, and his beloved children, Roy J. Teaney of Peggs, Marshal Lee Washington of Hulbert, Carol Buttrey and husband Barry of Hulbert, Marsha Hix and Jimmy Thomas of Tahlequah, and Darla Van Buskirk and husband Chris of Moody, OK. He leaves one brother, David Washington and wife Billie of Grove, OK, and two sisters, Violet Washington of Quinton, OK and Joyce Deckard and husband Bill of Tahlequah, OK. He lives on in his ten adored grandchildren, Katelyn Blair of Tahlequah, Trynity Teaney of Teresita, Levi Royce Teaney-Buttrey of Hulbert, Jeb Hix of Tahlequah, Jadyn Buttrey of Hulbert, Ethan Teaney of Peggs, Ezekiel Hix of Tahlequah, OK, Leah Van Buskirk of Moody, Kylee Van Buskirk of Moody and Natalie Van Buskirk also of Moody. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
