Funeral services for Henrietta Stacy-Essary will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 2:00 pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Pastor Kennith Stacy officiating. Interment will be held following the services at Tahlequah City Cemetery. There will be a visitation hosted by family on Sunday January 24, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Reed-Culver chapel. Hennrietta Stacy-Essary was born April 2, 1929 in Oklahoma to David and Nancy Nottingham. She grew up in a busy household with eight siblings and learned a good work ethic from her hard working family. In 1951, she married Elmer Durant (Dusty) Stacy and together they had three children, Jimmy L. Stacy and wife Connie of Tahlequah, Dwight Stacy and wife Meri of Tahlequah and daughter, Beverly Hamilton and companion Gary Anderson of Vian. Widowed in 1982, Henrietta found love again with HC Essary from Tahlequah and they married in October of 1986 continuing to make their home in Tahlequah.
Henrietta was a strong and gentle person who provided care to others in their homes. Later in life, she worked in the laundry of Davis Nursing Home retiring from there after many years of service. Henrietta was a very content person and loved football games, especially the Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed reading and caring for her dogs. She was saved and baptized into the Baptist faith at a young age and possessed a deep faith in Jesus Christ.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Durant (Dusty) Stacy, and second husband, HC Essary. Also preceding her in death are her parents, two sisters, Elizabeth Barnhart and Della Nottingham. Surviving her are her three children, four sisters, Cozetta Stacy of Colorado, Shirley Jackson of California, Lela Cole of California, and Clara Smith of Tahlequah, two brothers, JD Nottingham of Kansas and JB Nottingham of Oklahoma. Her legacy lives on through her six grandchildren, Stephanie Ice and husband Jerry (Cherokee) of Tahlequah, Buddy Stacy and wife Shannon of Tahlequah, Kennith Stacy and wife Amber of Arkansas, Sarah Robertson and husband Matt of North Carolina, Lindsey Whisenhunt of Tulsa and David Alan Lee of Fort Gibson. Also, there are fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and a host of friends and loved ones.
