

JB Thompson was born on November 21st, 1946 in Hulbert, OK, the son of Drunken and Bessie (Dreadfulwater) Thompson. He grew up with three brothers and two sisters, Billy Joe, Johnny Lee, Betty , Eva and James. He attended school at Tahlequah High School. Shortly after school , he enlisted into the United States Army and serving for two years until he was honorably discharged to go home. JB would meet and marry the mother of his children, Barbara Ann Brown, and they were wed on February 1st, 19711, in Tahlequah, OK. Together they raised three sons and two daughters, Deanna, Marcus, Cynthia. Stacy and Teddy. JB was a laborer and factory worker all of his working career. When he got home at night, he loved tuning into the old westerns like “Gunsmoke” and “Bonanza”. He liked drawing in his notebook, and building models of all types. He loved to crank up the old music and working under the hood of a car. He loved his family and any chance he had to spend with them was the absolute best. He though his children and grandchildren were the smartest in town! He never tired of teaching them something new, and practicing his sense of humor on them at the same time. He passed from this life on April 28th, 2022 in Muskogee, OK. He was 75 years old and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bean Thompson and Lizzie Dreadfulwater. He also joins his mother and father and his three brothers and two sisters, as well as one grandson, Justin Thompson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Deanna Thompson of Tahlequah, Marcus Thompson and wife Clarissa Eagle, Cynthia Thompson of Tahlequah, Stacy Thompson and Teddy Thompson both of Tahlequah, OK. He lives on in his fifteen grandchildren, Hayden Thompson and wife Trinitee of Tulsa, Dakota Coachman of Tahlequah, Mark Thompson and companion Bailey of Tahlequah, Dale Eagle of Tahlequah, Tracey Eagle and Brett, Devren Eagle and Kayah Holmes of Tahlequah, Darren Eagle of Tahlequah, Brandon Eagle and Katie Eagle both of Tahlequah, Courtney McCoy and husband Josh of Tahlequah, Jesse Sexton of Tahlequah, Sebastian Sexton of Tahlequah, Jerry Logsdon of Stilwell, and Runningwolf Thompson of Tahlequah. He also leaves his seven great grandchildren, the mother of his children, Barbara Ann Brown of Tahlequah, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
Funeral services for JB Thompson will be held on Monday, May 2nd, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor DJ McCarter officiating. The United States Army will have honors for JB at his graveside. He will be laid to rest at Swimmer Cemetery in Cherokee County. Pallbearers for JB include Deanna Thompson, Marcus Thompson, Stacy Thompson, Teddy Thompson, Corey Still, Hayden Thompson and Dakota Thompson.
His family will receive visitors on Sunday at Reed-Culver Chapel beginning at 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
