

Tahlequah, OK- Funeral services for Jess Cochran were held Wednesday, November 7, 2012 1:00 PM at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Tahlequah with Ministers Gerald Fixin and Fox Blackfox officiating. Pallbearers were Ethan Sands, Elijah Tucker, Felix Fixin, Walker Cochran Jr. Larry Lyman, and Vernon Cochran.
Jess Cochran was born May 22, 1921 in Kansas, OK to Esther Owens and William Cochran. He passed form this life on November 5, 2012 in Thalequah, OK, at the age of 91.
He was in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and received three medals while serving his country. He had many talents and hobbies including carpentry, farming, fishing, gigging, and he was also known for cutting and selling wood or just trying to help someone out. Jess enjoyed working on small engines, and loved spending time with family fishing, and cooking. He was a member of Olive Baptist Church and the most important thing to him was attending church and going to gospel singings.
Jess was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jessie Mae Drywater-Cochran, a brother Louie Cochran, two infant daughters, and a step-daughter Nancy Chuculate.
Those left to cherish his memory include grandson Adam and wife Amanda, Jeremy, and Sanen Chuculate of the home, six children; Jess Jr. and wife Susan of Chouteau, OK, Neoma Frozier, and Jimmy and wife Nonna of Texas, Lynn Blossom, and Michael and Lillie of Kansas and a step-daughter Lucille and husband Don of Hulbert, as well as many grandchildren and a host of friends and loved ones. Jess will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
