

John Paul Lutz was born on March 17th, 1942, during WWII, to Herman Anthony and Luelle Adele (Beland) Lutz Sr.in Ft. Smith, AR. He was raised with his brothers and sisters, Herman Jr., Mary Lutz Powell, Nancy (Sister Antonia) Lutz, Benjamin Lutz, Joseph Lutz, William Lutz and James Lutz.
Growing up, John attended St. Anne’s Academy in Ft Smith, and was a member of the Class of 1960. He married and raised a family of two sons, John Paul Lutz Jr and Jeffrey James Lutz.
John earned his living working as an assistant manager for Walmart Corp. When he wasn’t working, he was an avid sportsman. John loved bowling and was Arkansas State Bowling Champion. He loved a day spent on the lake or river fishing for crappie or gigging for frogs. A leisurely afternoon on the golf course was good with John. He was outgoing, friendly to everyone he met, and possessed a fantastic sense of humor. He was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Jennifer Leigh Lutz, Lylian Briggs, Richard Briggs III, Kaitlyn Lutz, Nicholas Lutz and Noah Lutz. His great grandchildren are Anya Quesada and Royal Allen. He took life the way he found it, and enjoyed every moment.
John passed from this life on February 12th, 2026 in Tulsa, OK. He was 83 years old and will be missed. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, four brothers, Herman Lutz Jr, Benjamin Lutz, Joseph Lutz and William Lutz, And two sisters, Mary L. Lutz and Nancy (Sister Antonia) Lutz and one grandson, Noah J. Lutz.
He is survived by his sons, John Paul Lutz Jr and Jeffrey James Lutz. He leaves one brother, James Lutz. He lives on in his five grandchildren, Jennifer Leigh Lutz, Lylian Briggs, Richard Briggs III, Kaitlynn Lutz, Nicholas Lutz and two great grandchildren, Anya Quesada and Royal Allen. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too many to mention.
