

Judy Carol Wilson–Messick was born February 23rd, 1950 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Sherman Cecil and Lula Mae (Brown) Wilson. She grew up in a family of four brothers and four sisters and attended school at Tulsa Central High in Tulsa, OK. She would meet and marry her husband, Christopher Messick on January 7th, 1970, after he returned from Vietnam. They moved to Tulsa where Christopher was employed at Henderliter Manufacturing and Tulsa Screw and Slagles. They enjoyed each others company and raised four adored sons, Christopher Jr., James, Daniel, and Sherman. In 1980, the family relocated to Hulbert, OK. Judy was employed as a housekeeper for Western Hills Lodge. Her free time was spent in the great outdoors with her family, camping every chance they had, and fishing. Judy loved playing cards, crocheting, and watching a little TV with her grandkids, she loved the sci-fi channel! She was happy just to be with her family, especially her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. Any time they spent together over a holiday meal, or just to chat for the afternoon was special for Judy. Her husband Christopher passed in 2002. Judy remained close to the rest of her family, and devoted her free time to keeping them company. Judy had a warm and loving heart, and a personality that made you her friend, even if she had just met you. Her doors where always open to anyone in need of a loving home and warm meal. She loved talking to people, and always gave you one of her brightest smiles. A Christian by faith, she was baptized at the age of 11 at the Springdale Baptist church in Tulsa, OK. She later became a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Hulbert. The Lord called this loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend home from her labors on March 6th, 2016 at her home in Hulbert, OK with her loved ones by her side. She was 66 years old. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Judy is preceded in death by her mom and dad, her beloved Christopher, and one sister, Karen Garcia.Those left to cherish her memory include her loving sons and their families, Christopher William Messick Jr of Holdenville, OK, James Messick of Hulbert, OK, Daniel Messick and companion Christina Yocom of Tahlequah, OK, and Sherman Messick of Hulbert, OK. She leaves four brothers and three sisters, Jerry Wilson, Terry Wilson, Leon Wilson, Cecil Wilson,Trisha Smith, Leona Welch, and Brenda Rose. She lives on in her four grandchildren, Gwendolyn Messick, Christopher Messick, Katlen Messick, and Colby Stutsman, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
Funeral services for Judy Carol Wilson-Messick will be held on Friday, March 11th, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Spring Valley Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Charlie Levi officiating. Interment will follow at Molly Field Cemetery in Cherokee County, OK.
Pallbearers for Judy include James Messick, Daniel Messick, Sherman Messick, Mike Gray, Adam Breeden, and Mitchell Cook. Honorary pallbearers include Christopher Messick and Colby Stutsman.
