Judy Faye Telemchuk, 68, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2014 at Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, OK with her husband by her side. She was born on May 10, 1946 in Riverside, CA. She is the daughter of Veneta Lowrey-Eatherly and Virgil Eatherly. After she graduated from Polytechnic High School in San Francisco, CA in 1964, Judy married Nicholas (Nick) Telemchuk in Reno, NV on August 13, 1966. They were married over 48 remarkable years. The young couple lived in San Francisco for 5 years before moving to Peggs, OK in 1971. Judy served as church secretary at the First Christian Church in Tahlequah for 21 years and retired in the late 1990’s. In early 2000 she was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Aphasia with claimed her speech several years later. Family and friends knew that this spunky, little sassy lady’s spirit was still there, but just not able to communicate it verbally. While we missed hearing her voice, we could still see the love in her eyes. She was an avid baseball and football fan…and she know every stat for every player from her two favorite teams: the San Francisco 49’ers and the NY Yankees. She was better than ESPN! She also enjoyed playing computer games, going to the casino, reading suspense novels and most of all, watching her grandkids play sports and dance. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She will truly be missed by all. Nick says “Goodbye for now, but not forever. You’ve given me the best 48 years anyone could ask for.”
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Venta Eatherly and her brother, Jerry Lawrence.
Judy is survived by her husband, Nick Telemchuk of Peggs, OK; one son, Paul Telemchuk and wife Brandy of Chouteau, OK and two daughters, Debbie Hensley of Locust Grove, OK and Michelle Evans and husband Mark of Siloam Springs, AR. Her legacy lives on through her seven grandchildren, Brandie Morrow of Siloam Springs, AR, Courtney Schmidt of Locust Grove, OK, Amber Laue of Springdale, AR, Justin Evans and Hannah Evans of Siloam Springs, AR, Baylee Telemchuk and Adam Telemchuk of Chouteau, OK; four great-grandchildren as well as many friends and loved ones.
