

Hulbert, OK- Funeral services for Karla Denise Whitekiller will be held on Friday, March 18 , 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Reed- Culver Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerry Henson and Reverend Charles Whitekiller officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday , March 17, 2011 from noon until 8;00 PM at the Reed- Culver Chapel . Interment will take place at the Keener Cemetery near Lost City. Services have been entrusted to Reed- Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Pallbearers for Karla include Kevin Walls, Steve Whitekiller, Willie Whitekiller, Dillon Brown, Tyler Forrest, and Rustin Brown. Honorary pallbearers include Sid Whitekiller, Mark Fielden, Mark Whitekiller, B.J.Whitekiller, Bill Jones, Arimis Olivares, Matt Fertig, Mike Fishinghawk, Buster Gifford, and Mason Fielden.
Karla Denise Whitekiller was born on August 5th, 1964 at Pecos, TX, the daughter of Curtis and Cheryl (Cook) Whitekiller. She was a life long resident of Lost City and attended school there until the 8th grade. She graduated from Hulbert High School in 1982. She obtained her Master’s Degree from NSU in Elementary Education, graduating in 1989. She was employed as a Foreman for the Tri-B Nursery in Tahlequah, OK. On June 1st, 1991, she gave birth to her only child, Stanley Keith Washington. She was a very proud Momma and enjoyed watching her son grow into a cowboy, following him to his rodeos and roping events. Words cannot express her pride at his many accomplishments. When she wasn’t working, she loved to read. She was always improving her mind with college classes and had recently studied Medical Coding. Karla was outgoing and friendly. She could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and loved to be around people. She was a gifted cook and you could often find her in the kitchen making one of her many specialties. The joy of her life was her family, especially her nieces and nephews, who affectionately called her “Aunt Dar”. A Baptist by faith, the Lord called Karla to her heavenly home on March 11, 2011 in Tyler, TX. She was forty-six years old. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Karla is preceded in death by her grandmother, Linda Whitekiller, her maternal grandparents, Roy and Loye Cook, three aunts, three uncles, and four cousins.
She is survived by her son, Stanley Washington and his companion Cherri Stanley of Miami, OK, her parents, Curtis and Cheryl Whitekiller of Hulbert, OK, ,one brother, Sid Whitekiller and companion Theresa Henson of Hulbert, OK, and one sister, Katrina Fielden and husband Mark also of Hulbert, OK, and her fiancé and best friend, Alan Barksdale of Hulbert, OK. She leaves six nephews, B.J., Briar, Bleau, Braxton, and Brenton Whitekiller, and Mason Fielden. Her three nieces are Hope and Mady Fielden and Brynley Whitekiller. There are future generations in one niece and nephew expected in July as well as a great nephew Brayden Carey as well as a host of extended family, many friends and loved ones.
