Lillie Mae Smith was born on February 24th, 1930 in Hulbert, OK, the daughter of Joe Bud and Eliza Marie (Crow) Fish. She attended school and graduated. She then began her career as a home health nurses aide, taking wonderful care of all the clients in her care for over 20 years. She married the love of her life and her best friend, Harold Wayne Smith, and together they owned and operated Redman Ranch. Lillie was an avid horseman, and loved being in the great out doors. Her husband and Lillie also ran a security company in St. Louis for many years, always working side by side. Harold passed from this life in 1985, so Lillie worked in the Gibson Discount Store in Stilwell for many years. Family was the most important thing to Lillie, she was the proud mother of Joe Marvin Whitehead and Joe Raymond Coffee, both of Tahlequah, and the stepmother to Harold Wayne Smith Jr. of Greenwood, AR, Donny Smith of Greenwood, AR and Terry Smith of Ft. Smith, AR. She may not have been overjoyed at the thought of keeping house, but she grilled a mean T-bone steak and made a beautiful pot of beans. A Christian by faith, Lillie faithfully attended the Assembly of God Church in Tahlequah, and enjoyed her many friends there. You always knew Lillie by the beautiful smile on her face and sweet disposition. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from her labors on July 31st, 2017 in Tulsa, Ok with her children by her side. She was 87 years old. She will be greatly missed.
Lillie is preceded in death by her mother, father, husband Harold, and her grandparents.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons and stepsons, two grandchildren, Kristi Jo Lynn of Tahlequah and Amanda Jo Reed of Salt Lake City, UT. She lives on in her two great grandchildren, as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
