Lois Ruth Warner was born in Chicago, IL on June 9th, 1922, the daughter of Charles and Grace (Eldridge) Warner. Lois was raised along with three brothers and sisters in the Moody Memorial Church of Chicago. In 1944, Lois graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelors of the Arts Degree and in 1946, from the Biblical Seminary in New York, now the New York Theological Seminary, with her Masters in Religious Education. From 1946 until 1951, Lois was a weekday religious instructor in Indianapolis. It was at this time she joined the First Baptist Church. From 1951 until 1963, she worked at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Chicago, now in Lombard, Illinois. In 1963, the seminary’s graduate school and college separated, and Lois moved with the college division to Elgin, IL. This new Christian liberal arts college was named Judson College. Lois served as their Registrar until her retirement in 1988. Lois was the caregiver for two aunts from 1975 until 1992 and Lois’s elderly ,disabled sister, Dorothy. After Dorothy died in 1992, Lois’s remaining sister Jean Hamrin joined Lois in Elgin, IL. Their brother Earl passed in 1994 and the two sisters became the only family members left. So it was in 1996, Lois and Jean moved together to their new home at Go ye Village in Tahlequah, OK. They joined the first Evangelical Free Church of Tahlequah. Lois loved teaching and was meticulous in all her actions. She was always the person left in charge to see things were done right. She adored children and teaching them was a special gift she shared. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing praises to God. Just as she was determined, energetic, and intellectual, she had a large loving heart, and showed people the happy side of life. She was gracious in all she did and made others feel welcome when around Lois. She loved her family and her family at Go Ye especially. The Lord called His faithful servant Lois home from her labors on March 15, 2011 at Tahlequah, OK. Lois was eighty eight years old.
Lois is preceded in death by her immediate family.
