Lucy Mouse-Overacker was born on June 17th 1951 in Moodys, OK, at the family home. She was blessed with seven brothers and three sisters, Robert, David, Jackie, Michael, Jody, Marvin, Clifford, Cora, Dora, and Nora. She attended and graduated from Tahlequah High School. She would meet and marry the love of her life, Gregory “Greg” Ellis Overacker Sr. on Valentine’s Day 1969. Together, they would raise a family of three sons and one daughter, Cheryl, Jonathan, Patrick and Gregory Jr. As well as her bonus daughters Cheryle, Melanie and Tonya. Lucy spent her entire life caring for those around her. She always put Greg and her children first in her life and then all of the patients entrusted to her care. She worked in home health care, a hospital and nursing homes. When the family moved back to Tahlequah she loved going to Johnson Prairie Church in Moodys. She attended every gospel singing she could and many other events at the church. Lucy was easily spotted where ever she was as she was the lady with the bright and happy smile, always joking and teasing the people she loved. She was always ready to play a little bingo, or maybe go to the casino to join her friends and family. There was nothing she liked better than making quilts and crocheting and her evenings were also a good time to work on puzzle books. She liked cooking and made really good chicken and dumplings, cornbread dressing, and her milk gravy was so good! She was even known to make barbeque rabbit. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She was their full time babysitter, chauffeur, playmate and entertainment. Her favorite place to take them was the Tulsa State Fair where she would let them win gold fish even if their parents said NO! Spoiling them made her the happiest. She would sit back and enjoy a drive to the river and creeks, where she could unwind, soak her feet in the cool water and hunt for a few good crawdads. In spite of all the love she shared with her family, she passed from this life on July 14th, 2021 at her home. She was 70 years old.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother and father Robert Sr. and Nancy Mouse, brothers, Robert Mouse Jr, David Mouse, Jody Mouse, and Clifford Mouse, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Those left to celebrate her life include her loving husband and best friend of 52 years, Greg of the home in Tahlequah and her children, Cheryl Overacker of the home, Jonathan Overacker and wife Shelli of Tahlequah, Patrick Overacker and Jeralyn Macapagong of Manilla, Philippines, and Gregory Overacker Jr. of Tahlequah, and her bonus daughters Cheryle King and husband Harold of Phoenix, AZ, Melanie Baker of Stillwater, OK, Tonya Smith and husband Robert of Tahlequah. She leaves her brothers and sisters, Jackie Mouse of Tahlequah, Michael Mouse of Briggs, Marvin Mouse of Tahlequah, Cora Vann of Tahlequah, Dora Vance and husband Ernest of Tahlequah, Ok, and Nora Weaver of Tahlequah.
