

Funeral services for Margaret Kitson Washington will be held on Thursday, October 31st at 10:00 AM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Mr. Miller Ballard. Interment will be held at Greenleaf Cemetery. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.reedculver.com.
Pallbearers for Margaret include James Gibson, Mark Washington, Jimmie Washington, William Deckard, Antonio Nunez, and Alex Castillo. Honorary pallbearers are Spanky Thompson and Marshal Washington.
Margaret Kitson Washington was born on September 1st, 1928 in Shawnee, OK, the daughter of Leonard and Idora (Collier) Kitson. Margaret retired as a nursery worker at Midwest Nursery. She loved spending time outside in her flower gardens. She was an amazing seamstress making lovely quilts and clothing. Her kitchen was filled with the aroma of homemade biscuits or fry bread and made some of the best homemade candy. You could always find Margaret riding her bike around town. She was a devote member of the Masena Holiness Church and a life member of the Tahlequah community. Over the years she’s made countless friends. She portrayed the love of Christ with everyone she came in contact with and never met a stranger. Margaret was called to her eternal home on Monday, October 28th, 2013 in Tahlequah, OK with family by her side. Margaret was 85 years old. Her love and compassion she had for everyone will be greatly missed.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Leroy; three sisters, Mabel, Dessie, and Louise; one son, JW Washington and two daughters, Melba and Linda.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Hank and Paula Washington of Peggs, OK and David and Billie of Southwest City, MO and two daughters, Joyce and Bill Deckard and Violet Washington both of Tahlequah, OK as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
