Ouida Faye Polson

Ouida Faye Polson (nee Furnas) passed away peacefully on July 7, 2023, at the age of 77 in Owasso, Oklahoma. She was born on January 10, 1946, in Miami, Oklahoma. Ouida was a beloved sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Ouida had a strong faith and was a faithful servant of God. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Ouida's greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated teacher throughout her career, impacting the lives of many students in Kansas and throughout Texas. Ouida's love for organization and lists was evident in her daily life. She had a talent for helping others get organized and was always willing to assist. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Life Groups, Prayer Group, Charity Groups, and Celebrate Recovery. Ouida found fulfillment in being part of these organizations and making a positive impact in her community. Ouida will be forever remembered by her sister Deloris Furnas and her grandchildren Brittany Earl, Candace Cooley, DJ Polson, Michael Polson, Mathew Polson, and Markus Polson. Additionally, she leaves behind seven great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.

The funeral service will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Melrose, Kansas on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 10 am. Ouida's final resting place will be alongside her loved ones in the peaceful cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ouida's memory to the National Kidney Foundation or the Doug Furnas Scholarship Fund. These organizations were close to her heart and she would be honored to have donations made in her name.

Ouida Faye Polson will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her dedication to education, and her loving spirit. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
